UWR QR Code

UWR is pleased to announce its “QR code evidence backed sustainability initiative” for all projects on Universal Water Registry. Each project now gets a custom UWR QR code for showcasing offset traceability, issuance details, serial IDs, audit trails, documentation, retirement/burn & tokenize actions etc.

Our free to use QR codes (quick-response codes) can be used as a marketing tech & an environmentally friendly tool for showcasing provenance aimed at project developers & offset buyers.

Clients and Consumers can check green claims directly with QR codes

A recent report on greenwashing highlights:

53% of green claims give vague, misleading or unfounded information

40% of claims have no supporting evidence

Half of all green labels offer weak or non-existent verification

This new UWR initiative:

-protects consumers from greenwashing

-makes green claims reliable, comparable and verifiable

-contributes to creating a circular and green economy by enabling consumers to make informed purchasing decisions, and;

-helps establish a level playing field when it comes to environmental performance of products

QR codes can help companies reduce waste, especially paper products. For example, a company can put a QR code on the box of a physical product that links to the d UWR project selected for offsetting purposes. QR codes can also be used instead of printed brochures or flyers for in-person services. QR codes can reduce pollution, deforestation, and waste. QR codes help connect with eco-minded buyers. For example, a brand that sells products showcasing green claims, could explain its mission to provide high-quality and carbon waste-free goods with the scan-click-read option. QR codes can be used as in-store displays or packages giving customers quick and easy access to information with a simple scan.
